Automotive & outdoor power solutions

Reliable power matters when electrical devices are used in vehicles, RVs, camping setups and other locations away from conventional power outlets. TGITION offers DC-to-AC power inverters, chargers and related accessories for automotive and outdoor power applications.

We help businesses evaluate input voltage, output requirements, power capacity, device compatibility and installation conditions to identify suitable products for different markets and use cases.

Key power requirements

The requirements a buyer in this sector compares before a quote.

Continuous & surge power
Inverter selection should consider both continuous output power and the short-term surge capacity required by connected equipment, particularly devices with motors or compressors.
DC input compatibility
Input voltage and operating ranges must be matched to the intended battery or DC power source, taking account of voltage variations during operation.
Operating environment
Ambient temperature, ventilation, vibration, dust exposure and installation conditions are important considerations when selecting power equipment for automotive and outdoor use.
Wiring & connections
Cable specifications, connectors, overcurrent protection and installation requirements should be reviewed according to the selected inverter, electrical load and intended application.

  • Power requirements: Review of DC input specifications, continuous output ratings and surge power requirements according to the intended load.
  • Installation & compatibility: Evaluation of cable connections, outlet configurations, ventilation and available protection features based on the selected product.
  • Testing & compliance: Review of applicable product standards, certification information and testing or documentation requirements according to the model and destination market.

Questions buyers ask first

The three questions that come up before a project starts.

How do I choose the right inverter for a motor or compressor?

Start with the equipment’s rated running power and its starting or surge requirements. Motors and compressors may need significantly higher power during startup than during normal operation. The inverter’s continuous and surge ratings, allowable surge duration, output waveform and compatibility with the connected equipment should all be considered. Share the equipment specifications and intended operating conditions so suitable inverter options can be evaluated.

Can the same inverter be used for off-grid and grid-connected applications?

Not necessarily. Many vehicle and portable power inverters are designed for standalone operation and must not be connected directly to the utility grid. Grid-connected or hybrid applications require equipment specifically designed and approved for those functions, subject to applicable technical and regulatory requirements. The intended system configuration should be confirmed before selecting an inverter.

What about battery packs and cables?

Battery voltage, available discharge current, connection methods, cable sizing and overcurrent protection should be considered when selecting an inverter. Battery chemistry, battery management system limitations and operating conditions may also affect compatibility. TGITION can help review the relevant connection and product specifications based on your project requirements.
